Chandler Kauffman likes telling stories. If they’re funny, that’s awesome. True? Well even better.
Selected as one of ten notable new directors by The Commercial Film Producers of Europe soon after film school at NYU, he has since directed and shot broadcast, web and interactive content for numerous major ad agencies and TV networks, including recent projects for ABC, Clorox, Gerber, P&G, Subway, USA Today and Viacom.
Chandler’s award-winning narrative and documentary work has screened at numerous international film festivals. His short doc The Skisherman, about an extreme water sport and the characters who practice it in the waters off of Montauk, NY, won the Documentary Competition at the Film Series at Cine Gear Expo at Paramount Studios and garnered an Honorable Mention at the LA International Film Festival.
Returning to his comedy-writing roots, Chandler recently wrote, directed and co-exec. produced the original TV pilot Karl Manhair, Postal Inspector, a character-driven dark comedy about a down-and-out Postal Inspector whose quest for renewed meaning in his life leads him to seek the guidance of a new-age life coach and ultimately immerses him in the most bizarre case of his career. With a cast of recognizable character actors, and an oddly enthusiastic following amongst real life US Postal Inspectors, Karl Manhair recently premiered at the Vail Film Festival and has since screened to big laughs at numerous fests on its way to streaming distribution.
